Today is my grandparents 42nd anniversary and that makes my heart so happy. I can’t imagine getting to spend that much time with your best friend and the love of your life. People constantly hashtag and call the most basic things #goals on social media, but for me what they have achieved actually deserves that title. Growing up seeing them laugh, talk, argue, go to church, cook, watch television, and every little thing in between together and stay together through the years is so amazing to me. Like everyone else, I am extremely bias and feel like I have the best family anyone could ask for despite everything that we have been through throughout the years. I call my grandparents grandmama an grandpapa and have since I was a little girl. My grandpapa is so chill and laid back and I like to think that we are a lot alike in the way we handle things. My grandmama is the boss and I love and aspire to be just like her when I get older. She is so cool an sassy and honestly the way she whips her Range Rover around is actually “#goals” for me in real life. It is the best feeling to know at the end of the day, you have somebody that loves you so much and supports you no matter what. Somebody you can laugh with, cry with, experience life with, and share all those little moments that can’t be captured with words. The idea of unconditional love seems so crazy to me sometimes because pretty much everything comes with conditions these days. Love is not always this easy thing, but when it gets hard and still stands the test of time, I feel like that is when you know it’s real. Getting to see real, genuine, unconditional, love that has stood the test of time has been an absolute blessing. Having such strong examples of what a role model should be has kept me so grounded and I thank my family for giving me that. Happy Anniversary Grandmama and Grandpapa! I love you to the moon and back!
